NEW FOR 2014

In previous years we have had a large number of sign ups on Race Day.  We encourage Race Day sign ups as we get that people want to wait to see about the weather and the condition of the River (which is always great at the end of September!).  The late sign ups create lines.  To reduce lines, on Race Day we will have two registration tables, one for those that have preregistered and one for those who are registering on Race Day.  This will reduce lines for both, especially for those that are pre-registered.

NEW FOR 2014

Nervous about swimming in open water?  Never done an open water swim before?  The Great Ohio RIver Swim has added an open water swim clinic?  We have pushed our start time back to 8:15am in order to have a 30 minute open water swim clinic at 7:30am.  Topics to be covered will include open water freestyle stroke, sighting, drafting, currents, start and finish, lifeguards and strategy.  You do not have to participate in the Great Ohio River Swim to attend the Open Water Swim Clinic.  The Swim Clinic will be at the Finish Line at Public Landing.

COURSE

The course starts at the upstream end of the Serpentine Wall, swims directly across the Ohio River to Kentucky and then angles back to finish at Public Landing.  The distance is just under 900 meters.

We encourage US Swimming, YMCA, college and high school teams to participate.  Please contact us about team discounts.

PACKET PICK UP $ RACE DAY REGISTRATION
